Abstract - The article examines issues of management of water systems, study  and interpretation of the existing problems, as well as  issues of automation of management. Issues of operation of water systems are viewed and the necessity of automation of the counting of  water  consumption are demonstrated as basis for organization of operation of the systems. Whit the help of simple calculations, the procedure of detection of places damages and leakages.Requirements for engineering systems of provision of automation of the water system management are brought in. A solution of the issue of automation through up-to-date communication systems is offered.
